Data movement using periodic batch jobs, ETL tools, existing messaging systems, APIs, and custom, DIY engineering work can result in a hairball of brittle, point-to-point interconnections. As organizations expand into hybrid and multicloud architectures, this can get exponentially worse – more individual connections are added, new cloud networking and security challenges are introduced, and new compliance and data sovereignty laws emerge as soon as data crosses borders.

A robust multi-cloud architecture can help eliminate both brittle point-to-point interconnections and synchronize data between all on-prem, cloud, hybrid cloud, multicloud, and multi-region environments at the same time. It can also be used to create better dev/stage experiences and build robust DR plans as well.

Apache Kafka provides a scalable architecture with fault-tolerant capabilities, making it an ideal candidate for managing data in complex environments. However, deploying and managing Kafka across hybrid and multi-cloud architectures can be resource-intensive and operationally complex.

Join us to learn how to set up Confluent Cloud to provide a singular and global data plane connecting all of your systems, applications, datastores, and environments – regardless of whether systems are running on-prem, in the cloud, or both.

Agenda:

  • Review common DR and hybrid cloud architecture patterns.
  • See how to share data between production and lower environments or migrate from on-prem to cloud.
  • Set up Confluent Cloud to share data across regions and clouds.
  • Leverage topic-level access control to share data as a product to end-users and global customers.

Who should attend:

  • Engineers, developers, architects, or anyone interested in understanding event-driven system design and use cases.
  • Any skill or maturity level with event-drive systems, Apache Kafka, or messaging in general.

Please note: a Confluent Cloud account is required for the lab session. Sign-up for an account here. Please register before the event. New signups receive $400 to spend during their first 60 days.
