Leverage Confluent’s data streaming platform to automate television network provisioning, service ordering, monitoring and reporting.
Telecommunication companies (telcos) are undergoing rapid digital transformation to handle ever-increasing traffic and adapt to changing requirements and new broadcasting needs. With a need to build and update networks, telcos need an orchestration system that can manage, update, and maintain software configurations for broadcasting infrastructure.
Confluent’s data streaming platform makes it possible to reliably distribute and respond to real-time messages flowing between devices and other physical equipment, microservices, and user interactions. This enables operations teams to correctly identify and automatically respond to network faults as well as do event-driven network onboarding to rapidly and reliably bring TV signals into customer homes:
Improve automation and repeatability of service creation, with the ability to respond and provision on demand.
Gain ease of delivering features as needed and better responsiveness to late-in-the-day requirements.
Enable real-time network monitoring and maintenance.
Reduce operational costs.
This use case leverages the following building blocks in Confluent Cloud.
Connect and stream disparate data in real time across sources and sinks such as syslog, Couchbase, and Neo4j.
Leverage tools such as Flink to route, transform, and enrich network events as they happen in real time, triggering workflows for network configurations and tests to automatically bring a link into service. Also create alarms from SNMP events to detect faults and aid root-cause analysis, surfacing relevant alarms to the operational team while filtering out noise.
Ensure data security as well as data quality and compatibility with Schema Registry. Increase collaboration with self-service data discovery that enables teams to find the data streams they need.
