Level Up Your Kafka Skills in Just 5 Days | Join Season of Streaming On-Demand
Data sharing across cloud service providers has emerged as a mission-critical need for large-scale enterprises implementing cloud agnostic solutions. However, event driven business applications with the need to share data across CSPs face compounded complexities including network layer configurations, disaster recovery, and data governance.
In this talk, we will discuss how Fidelity Investments designed its multi-cloud event streaming platform to enable applications residing in different cloud service providers to seamlessly share data between them. We will highlight the role that cluster linking plays in this design, the importance of data ownership in a multi-cloud, and how schema registry can be set up to provide common schema across Kafka clusters in different cloud providers. Finally, we will share how we offer this functionality through a self-service management API plane allowing teams to manage their multi-cloud topic replications with as little as a single configuration change.
