Wui Ngiap Foo
GrabWui is a technology leader who serves Grab in a wide spectrum of roles. He leads the combined protection umbrella (Trust, Identity, Safety and Financial Risks), whose dedicated goal is to protect Grab and its users from bad players around the globe. He also leads the combined Mobility Engineering team for Grab, which is responsible for the core of Grab’s transport businesses including GrabCar, GrabBike, GrabShare as well as the Grab For Business solution offering. Wui also spearheads strategic technology-led initiatives for Grab, including leading its Patents Office, driving organisation-wide AI strategy, as well as providing executive sponsorship for the Grab-Microsoft partnership. Prior to joining Grab, Wui has led global teams spanning the US, India, Singapore and Ireland for Google and Credit Suisse. At Google, he built up the Trust and Safety teams for the APAC region, spanning all social and real time communications (RTC) products, including Youtube, Google+, Photos, Google Hangouts etc. Originally from Malaysia, Wui now calls Singapore home. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the National University of Singapore, and was an ASEAN scholar. Wui’s interests include Japanese

Jun Rao
ConfluentJun Rao is the co-founder of Confluent, a company that provides a stream data platform on top of Apache Kafka. Before Confluent, Jun Rao was a senior staff engineer at LinkedIn where he led the development of Kafka. Before LinkedIn, Jun Rao was a researcher at IBM's Almaden research data center, where he conducted research on database and distributed systems. Jun Rao is the PMC chair of Apache Kafka and a committer of Apache Cassandra.
