Current 2024 Terms & Conditions

These Current 2024 Registration Terms & Conditions (these “Terms”) govern your registration and participation in Current 2024 (The "Event"). By clicking the checkbox during the registration process, or by attending or participating in the Event in any capacity, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and represent that you have read and understand all the provisions herein. As used herein, "you" and "your" means the individual registering for or participating in the Event, and/or the company or other legal entity by which you are employed or for which you are accepting these Terms, as the case may be. The effective date of these Terms shall be the date that you submit your registration, purchase Event tickets and/or attend the Event, whichever occurs first. These Terms are between you and Confluent, Inc. and its affiliates.


By submitting an Event registration, purchasing Event tickets, attending the Event and/or otherwise expressly agreeing to these Terms, you are entering into a legally binding contract with Confluent, Inc., 899 W Evelyn Avenue, Mountain View, CA 94041, United States, and its affiliates (collectively, “Confluent”) pursuant to these Terms. You confirm that you are an adult of 18 years or older on the first day of the Event, that you are legally entitled to represent the legal entity for which you submit the registration for the Event and that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms as well as to the Confluent Privacy Policy.

 

1. Payment Options

Conference tickets must be purchased using a valid credit card.

 

2. Discount Codes

If you have a discount code, you must apply it at the time of your registration. Discount codes can only be applied to standard or last call tickets. Discount codes cannot be applied after registration payment has been confirmed. Only one (1) discount code can be applied per registration.

 

3. Transfers, Cancellations, and Refunds

You may transfer your conference registration to another person within your organization by notifying Current@regsvc.com by September 10, 2024.

 

If you must cancel, please notify Current@regsvc.com by September 10, 2024. You will receive a refund for the ticket you chose, less a 25% cancellation fee. Cancellations made after September 10, 2024, as well as "no-shows," are liable for the full registration fee.

 

In the event that the Event is canceled by Confluent, registration fees only will be refunded. Cancellations of travel reservations and hotel reservations made directly with a hotel are of your responsibility of the attendee.

 

4. Hotel Cancellation

If you are unable to attend for any reason, you are responsible for canceling your own room reservations directly with the hotel, or you may be subject to penalties and fees by the hotel.

 

5. Registration Confirmation

Registration will be confirmed by email. You will receive a message as soon as payment has been received and your registration has been processed.

 

6. Speakers & Sessions

The Event agenda published on the registration website is provided for informational purposes only and is subject to change without notice. The speakers listed on this website are leading professionals in their respective fields. Should a speaker be unable to attend the conference, all efforts will be made to replace him or her with one of comparable experience and qualifications. We are constantly working on improving the quality of the Event. If the opportunity arises, Confluent may add conference sessions and workshops to the posted line-up to enhance the schedule and provide you with a better product.

 

Confluent does not guarantee the attendance of any exhibitor or speaker, or that any scheduled session will take place, particularly in the event of any natural or public disaster, insufficient participation or sponsorship, government regulation or shutdown, necessary venue construction, labor controversy, civil disturbance, acts or threats of terrorism, armed conflict or similar reasons beyond its reasonable control. Confluent will not be liable and no reimbursement will be made in the event of a cancellation or modification of times, dates, or sessions.

 

7. Security and Property

Confluent reserves the right to take any security measures that it deems necessary, and without prior notice, to increase the safety of attendees and exhibitors. You should not leave bags or other property unattended. Unattended property may be removed from the Event venue, and Confluent will not be responsible for any loss or damage of any kind relating to such removal. Event management staff may conduct security checks at any time during the Event, including, but not limited to, inspections or scans of any attendee’s or exhibitor’s person and/or their clothing, bags, containers and other items. Firearms, explosives and other weapons and hazardous materials that could be used to cause injury to another attendee are strictly prohibited at the Event venue and related activities. Confluent retains sole discretion to deny entry to the Event to anyone for any reason.

 

8. Event Conduct

Confluent reserves the right to refuse admission to, or to eject, any person whose conduct is disorderly, disruptive, harassing, vulgar, obscene, indecent, defamatory, hateful or otherwise offensive (including conduct consisting of disparaging statements or opinions regarding race, gender or ethnic background) or who fails to follow any of Confluent’s other rules or directions, as determined by Confluent in its sole discretion.

 

9. Data Privacy Acknowledgement

Confluent will handle your personal information in relation to Current 2024 in accordance with the Confluent Privacy Policy

 

Confluent may provide your registration details to Current 2024 sponsors and/or partners if you permit such a sponsor and/or partner to scan your Current 2024 badge. Badges may contain tags to record your participation in sessions and other activities during Current 2024. By permitting a sponsor and/or partner to scan your badge during Current 2024, you authorize Confluent to share your registration information with that sponsor and/or partner and agree to receive communications about their own products or services in accordance with the terms of their own privacy policies. If you do not wish to receive communications from these entities, you may refrain from scanning your badge with the entity and/or opt-out of such communications directly with the entity.

 

Confluent has contracted Opus Solutions, LLC (“Opus Agency”) to manage registration for the Current 2024. By registering for this event, you acknowledge that your registration information is transferred from Opus Agency to Confluent. The data will be processed and held by the following entities for the purposes of registering for and enabling your attendance at the event:

  • Validar (Onsite Registration Management) | Privacy Policy

10. Image Release

You acknowledge that the Event is a public event and that Confluent and its agents will photograph and record the Event and activities related to the Event in visual and audio media. By attending the event, you agree that (i) your name, company name, voice, picture, photograph, other reproductions of your likeness (collectively, Your “Image”) may appear in photos and recordings of the Event; and (ii) Confluent is granted the right to record, transcribe, modify, perform, reproduce, display, distribute and transmit in any form your Image in connection with any advertising or promotional content and materials, and for any other lawful purpose, including by posting on public websites, without any compensation to you. However, Confluent is not obligated to make any use of your Image, or exercise any of the rights granted to it.

 

11. Release and Waiver of Liability 

You acknowledge and agree that your attendance and participation in the Event is voluntary, and you understand the nature of the Event. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree that you solely assume the risks associated with attending and participating in the Event.

 

You hereby release, waive and forever discharge any and all liability, claims, actions, lawsuits, and demands of whatever kind or nature, damages and losses of any kind, including attorney fees, against Confluent and its affiliated partners and and/or its respective predecessors, successors, past or present subsidiaries, affiliated companies, investors, branches or related entities (the “Released Parties”), either in law or in equity, to the fullest extent permissible by law, which arise out of the result from your attendance at and participation in the Event and ancillary activities, including but not limited to death, bodily injury, illness, economic loss or out of pocket expenses, or loss or damage to property, which you, your heirs, assignees, next of kin and/or legally appointed or designated representatives, may have or which may hereinafter accrue on your  behalf,.

 

12. Trade Compliance and Ethics

You represent and warrant that you and/or the company or other legal entity by which you are employed or for which you are accepting these terms, are not subject to sanctions or otherwise designated on any list of prohibited or restricted parties, or owned or controlled by such a party, including but not limited to the lists maintained by the United Nations Security Council, the U.S. government (e.g., the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Specially Designated Nationals list and Foreign Sanctions Evaders list and the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Entity List), the European Union or its member states, or other applicable government authority.

 

13. Miscellaneous

These Terms and all claims arising hereunder will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California if the Event is scheduled to occur within the United States, or the laws of England and Wales if the Event is scheduled to occur in Europe. The United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods (CISG) shall not apply. All disputes arising out of this Agreement will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of and venue in the federal and state courts within Santa Clara County, California if the Event is scheduled to occur in the United States, or in London, England if the Event is scheduled to occur in Europe. You hereby irrevocably waive any and all claims and defenses you might otherwise have in any action or proceeding in any of such courts based upon any alleged lack of personal jurisdiction, improper venue or any similar claim or defense.  

 

Confluent will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform any obligation under these Terms where the delay or failure results from any cause beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, global or local epidemics, pandemics or other circumstances that would render the holding of the Event hazardous, unsuitable or unsafe, labor disputes or other industrial disturbances, electrical or power outages, utilities or other telecommunication failures, earthquake, storms, or other elements of nature, blockages, embargoes, riots, acts or orders of government, acts of terrorism, or war.

 

If any provision of these Terms is for any reason found to be unenforceable, the remainder of these Terms will continue in full force and effect to the fullest extent permitted by law. 

 

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on the Event website. The modified terms will become effective upon posting. By attending the Event after the effective date of any modifications to these Terms, you agree to be bound by the modified terms. It is your responsibility to check the Event website regularly for modifications to these Terms. We last modified these Terms on the date listed at the beginning of these Terms.

 

These Terms and their incorporated documents, together with your registration for the Event, constitute the complete and exclusive understanding and agreement of the parties and supersede all prior understandings and agreements, whether written or oral, with respect to the subject matter hereof. Any purchase order, purchasing terms, general terms of business or other document issued by you is for administrative convenience only and shall not be binding on Confluent.
