[Webinar] How to Protect Sensitive Data with CSFLE | Register Today
For the very first time, Kafka Summit is coming to Bangalore on May 2, 2024, at the Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Whitefield Hotel & Convention Center. And we’re bringing everything that makes Kafka Summit, well, Kafka Summit.
If you haven’t had the chance to attend Kafka Summit before, you might be asking yourself what you can expect from this inaugural event and how you can get the most out of it. You’re in luck, because I’m here to help!
The best way that I’ve found to get ready for any Kafka Summit is to get excited for the agenda. I know, I know, you’ve probably already seen the agenda, but have you really thought about which sessions you’ll attend?
For this one-day event, I recommend picking at least three sessions that you won’t want to miss. (Pro tip: You can use the conference app to select your favorite sessions and build a personal agenda for yourself.) When you get on-site, you’ll already have some anchor sessions that you know you’ll attend and then you can sprinkle in some other sessions on a whim.
I’ve already gone ahead and selected a few sessions that I’ll be attending:
I’d be remiss if I didn’t plug my own Kafka Summit session, Brick-by-Brick: Exploring the Elements of Apache Kafka® If you’re new to Kafka, this session will set you up with everything you need to know before diving into the rest of the conference!
Later in the day, I’ll be attending Multi-Cloud Data Sharing: Make the Data Move for You Across CSPs Using Cluster Linking by Vinod Kumar and Nagashree B. of Fidelity Investments. I love hearing how known brands solve common data problems, and these two speakers are sure to give a great presentation!
And finally, at the end of the day, I’ll check out Kafka in a Digital Twin Setup presented by Sharmistha Chatterjee from Commonwealth Bank of Australia, to help me better understand digital twins in industry.
Feel free to use my agenda choices as a jumping off point, but I really encourage you to take a look ahead of the event!
Now, you could attend Kafka Summit Bangalore and simply take in the technical sessions… but you should know that there’s so much more to this event. So I challenge you to dive in, explore all that Kafka Summit Bangalore has to offer, and have a little fun:
Networking Kafka Summits are an incredible way for people working with Apache Kafka and data streaming to connect with each other. Whether that means introducing yourself to a speaker who just gave a riveting talk on a subject near and dear to you, or running into colleagues and friends, or maybe finally getting to meet a Kafka Committer to talk about KIPs that are on the horizon for (i.e., Kafka Connect), I encourage you to use the time in between sessions to connect with folks during the “Hallway Track.” Especially for this first year of Kafka Summit Bangalore, I’m looking forward to catching up with data streaming friends both old and new!
The Expo Hall You’re going to want to make sure that you save some time to peruse the Expo Hall in between sessions, as well. If you’re not familiar, the Expo Hall is your place to explore what our gracious sponsors have to offer the data streaming world. Connect with them at their booths, collect swag, have a snack, and maybe grab a bit more swag. We’ve got a couple cool tricks up our sleeves at the Expo Hall this year, so you’ll definitely want to check it out.
The Kafka Summit Reception At the end of the day, you’ll want to stick around to join your fellow attendees at the closing reception. (Because we all know that a conference wouldn’t be a conference without a party to close it all out!) Grab a cocktail and some food and chat with speakers and other attendees about your favorite sessions from the day.
Social media fun with #KafkaSummit
And of course, the best way to really immerse yourself in Kafka Summit is to talk about it! At every Kafka Summit, we encourage attendees to share their experiences live online. Share your thoughts using #KafkaSummit, and while you’re at it, check out and participate in a #StreamingSelfie or two! If you’re not able to attend the conference in person, following these hashtags is also a great way to stay connected!
I personally cannot wait to be in Bangalore to experience this event firsthand. And more than that, I’m excited to meet so many new folks from the data streaming world. So I hope that I’ll see you in Bangalore.
The only thing left for you to do is register for Kafka Summit Bangalore! Plus, you can use code PRMBLG24 for a 25% discount on the list price.
